The area that is now Denby Heights Kamo was first evaluated for residential development in the 1980's as the population of nearby Whangarei grew rapidly. The rolling dairy land at the head of the Whau Valley was a natural expansion zone for Northland's largest urban centre.
Denby Heights Kamo was rezoned and subdivided by an Auckland-based property developer, who eventually secured consents and started earthworks in 2006. The site was then purchased by Rock Solid Holdings Limited, a national construction and development firm. RSH completed work on Stages 4 & 5 in 2010.
Although the Northland residential market was then at low ebb following global recession, demand has since been driven by a recovering economy and land prices that are competitive in relation to other parts of New Zealand. Sales are steady and just 33 sections remain available Stages 4 & 5.
